The LX1732-03 EVAL KIT is a high-efficiency isolated AC/DC offline switching power supply power supply evaluation kit. This evaluation kit is designed to quickly achieve the required operating conditions for the LX1732 series of offline AC/DC controllers manufactured by Exar Corporation. With the LX1732-03 EVAL KIT, designers can easily evaluate the performance of the LX1732 series as well as perform parametric tests on the same circuit boards.

The LX1732-03 EVAL KIT utilizes the Exar LX1732 AC/DC Offline Switching Controller which provides a high performance and high efficiency solution for AC/DC offline power systems. This device incorporates high voltage integrated circuits to provide primary side control, leading to improved performance and lower system costs. Designing with the LX1732-03 allows higher density, more efficient power systems that can reduce component count, minimize bill of materials cost and reduce the size of the printed circuit board.

The operating principle of the LX1732-03 EVAL KIT is controlling both power and feedback through the primary side of the circuit. This is achieved by using a pair of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controllers that define the appropriate parameters. The first PWM controller sets the power level of the switch, while the second one controls the feedback loop and stabilizes the output voltage. The output voltage is set by the output reference voltage, while the current level is monitored through the cable sense resistor.
