Working Principle

Since the switching sequence is triggered by the output voltage, the output is regulated by sensing this voltage using the feedback path. According to the sensed difference between the feedback and reference voltages, the error amplifier will adjust the voltage applied to the Gate of the MOSFETs, controlling the cycle duration and thus, maintaining the output voltage to the desired value.
