LX7176ACLQ-TR is a synchronous step-down DC/DC converter designed for automotive applications. It features 0.85V to 5.5V adjustable output voltage and up to 3A output current. The device integrates an on-chip power MOSFET, high efficiency and fast transient response, as well as low output ripple.

Application Field

On vehicles, LX7176ACLQ-TR can be used to provide a voltage for different electronic components such as radios, displays, multisensorys, infotainment, body controls and other components of the electrical system, in voltages from 0.85V to 5.5V.

Working Principle

The LX7176ACLQ-TR is a step-down, synchronous, high-efficiency DC/DC converter with an internal power switch and synchronous rectifier capability. The device operates in either Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) or Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) and regulates output voltage from 0.85V to 5.5V. Output voltage is programmed by an external resistor divider.

The chip uses two phase interleaving technique which can reduce the input current ripple, thus improving the efficiency and extends light load efficiency. And the near constant switching frequency eliminates audible vibration noise.

In addition, LX7176ACLQ-TR also has a Sleep Mode which consumes only 7µA and facilitates the implementation of environmental constraints, such as reducing standby power consumption.

The device integrates both the power switch and synchronous rectifier in the same package, achieving the optimized power efficiency and minimizing the external inductor and capacitor size. It is available in 4mm x 6mm WL-CSP package.
