M523XEVBE Application Field and Working Principle

The M523XEVBE Evaluation Board is an embedded system based on the NXP 32-bit Cortex-M microcontroller family. It is a more powerful version of the M522xEVBE development board with a larger memory (128 Kbyte), a USB-OTG interface, and an improved user interface for debugging. The evaluation board is designed to help engineers evaluate and quickly develop application programs for the Cortex-M family of controllers.

The M523XEVBE Evaluation Board enables hardware and software engineers to develop fast and efficient embedded applications. The on-board JTAG/SWD development port allows debugging of the software using a debugger, such as the NXP Cortex-M family debug software. The M523XEVBE Evaluation Board\'s on-board debug adapter features two JTAG/SWD ports, two Universal Serial Bus (USB-OTG) ports and two 100 Pin (UICC) connector. The UICC connector is used to connect the on-board debug adapter to the user\'s development unit. The device driver and flash program used in conjunction with the on-board debug adapter allow for easy debugging of the user application. The debugger provides access to the integrated ARM Cortex-M processor and its peripherals (including the microcontroller, digital signal processor, and memory controllers) as well as access to the general-purpose I/O pins for a variety of I/O operations.

The M523XEVBE Evaluation Board also features an onboard USB-OTG interface which allows for the exchange of data between the board and the host computer. In addition, the board enables the download of images and programs directly from the host computer to the onboard processor. This drastically reduces development time when compared to developing programs with traditional on-board memory.
