M5KP11A TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) Diodes are advanced versions of conventional Zener diode devices. They are broadly used in TVS diode applications, such as electronic protection circuits, as a means of providing protection from voltage surges or ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) pulses. They operate by quickly responding to changes in input voltage and releasing their energy in the form of a short discharge. The M5KP11A features an integrated energy management system which limits the maximum energy to be released, and prevents further damage to the component.M5KP11A TVS devices provides great ESD protection for a wide range of circuits. They can protect powered equipment from lightning, electrostatic discharge, circuit mis-configuration, and voltage deviation due to system reset. This type of diode has very fast response time, typically less than a nanosecond, allowing for high-speed switching applications without requiring additional protection. The M5KP11A is a dual-protector with a symmetrical bipolar output voltage and breakdown voltage of 5kV, allowing for more complex and sophisticated circuit designs.The M5KP11A device has a wide operating temperature range between -55°C and +150°C. It also features an extremely low leakage current of 0.001 pci to 0.003 pci. This low leakage current means that the device will not affect the circuit\'s normal operation even when operating under high temperatures. The device also has an active ESD protection up to 25kV, making it ideally suited for automotive, medical, telecom, and industrial applications that require robust surge protection.The M5KP11A device can be divided into two sections, the VF section (voltage feedback) and the TVS section. The VF section is responsible for controlling the voltage output of the device and also provides a feedback signal to the TVS section. The TVS section is responsible for providing the protection against transient voltage spikes, and also contains a zener diode which will clamp the voltage level if it exceeds a certain level.
