M5KP24CAE3 TVS - Diodes Application Field & Working Principle

M5KP24CAE3 is a Spark-Trap Clamping TVS Diode designed for mains transmitted & conducted transients protection of Line-Connected Electronic equipment up to 250VAC. It is a two-electrode devices that help protect electrical circuits from overvoltage by storing electrical charge. The stored charge releases gradually and reduces the voltage spike before it reaches the connected Electronic components, thus protecting them from damage. The device can handle up to 24A Imax and can provide up to 1500W of peak pulse power dissipation.
