M93C66-MN6 Working Principle
The M93C66-MN6 features 16K-bit user memory space and 8K-bit protected memory space. The protected memory consists of 2,048 bytes that cannot be modified by write access. This protected area is password-protected to prevent unauthorised access.
M93C66-MN6 provides data locking with a password protection feature. Any internal register or EEPROM page can be protected with a write-once 64-bit password. After the password has been set, no further write access is possible without authenticating. An incorrect password entry stops data write access until a correct password is entered.
The M93C66-MN6 stores write cycles and execution times for the protected data. This ensures that when the SOFT_POWER_ON flag is set and the power is removed and restored, the write cycle and execution times information is not lost.
In addition, the M93C66-MN6 offers internal RAM register with various functions, including a 32-bit random number generator which can support true random number generation by utilizing the internal A/D converter, and a factory write-once 16-bit ID code.
