In secure code protection, the M93C76-WMN6P can be used to protect user codes and data by locking out unauthorized users or programming. The working principle of the M93C76-WMN6P chip is quite simple. It has a low-power serial interface which allows the storage of confidential data. When powered up, it reads the data from the EEPROM cells that are programmed into it, then checks each byte for a special “write-protect” pattern. If a write-protect pattern is detected, then the data will not be written to the EEPROM cells. If a write-protect pattern is not detected, then the data will be written to the EEPROM cells.

The M93C76-WMN6P also offers one-time programming (OTP) option. When a user wants to change the data stored in it, the OTP feature will first require authentication from the user. Once the user is authenticated, the OTP procedure will unlock the erase/write permissions for the memory cells, allowing the user to modify the data stored in it. When the new data is programmed into the memory cells, the OTP feature will again lock the erase/write permissions for the memory cells, thus preventing any further changes to the stored data.

In addition, the M93C76-WMN6P also provides protection against external attacks by using an advanced write/erase algorithm. This algorithm helps to ensure that unauthorized access to stored data provide a limited impact and make sure that the data stored in the chip is secure. All of these security features make the M93C76-WMN6P an ideal chip for securely storing confidential data in low power applications.
