MAN6411C is a control module for driving and controlling liquid crystal display (LCD) which belongs to the Display Modules group, specifically it belongs to subgroup LED Character and Numeric. The MAN6411C is a single-chip LCD driver that provides built-in voltage boost, data latches, display addresses and character generator RAM. The MAN6411C is manufactured in small package so it can be used as part of an embedded system.The MAN6411C is designed to drive small LCD displays with up to eight segments with an LED current up to 10mA. The module is also capable of driving alphanumeric displays with a resolution of up to 8x16 pixels. The MAN6411C features two 10-bit shift registers, allowing two 8-bit parallel inputs or 16-bit serial transmitted commands and data.The MAN6411C has a wide range of applications, including digital clocks, electronic meters, operating consoles, digital indicators, signage and automotive displays. It can also be used for a variety of other applications such as control panel indicators, point of sale displays, vending machines and medical instrumentation.The working principle of the MAN6411C is based on the manipulation of anode and cathode terminals. The anodes and cathodes are each driven by their respective drivers A and K and connected to the display segments. When the anode drivers are active, current flows from the common cathode through the segment, to the anode. When the cathode drivers are active, current flows from the power supply through the segment, to the common anode. By alternately activating the anode and cathode drivers,specific segments can be selected to form characters and numbers on the LCD display.In addition, the MAN6411C also features a character generator RAM, allowing the display to display characters such as A-Z, 0-9 as well as some special symbols. The character generator RAM is programmed by writing data bits into the register. There are up to sixteen characters that can be programmed into the RAM and stored in the system.Overall, the MAN6411C is an ideal solution for a variety of LCD displays and offers a cost-effective solution for a wide range of applications. It is easy to use, highly flexible and offers excellent performance in small package sizes.
