The MAX1029BCEP+ is a dual-channel, first-order sigma-delta (ΔΣ) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that has been designed with the latest process and architectural advances to provide superior performance in a wide range of applications. It features a low-noise, high-resolution (0.5 LSB), pipelined architecture that allows for fast conversion rates and is optimized for single-supply operation from 2.7V to 5.5V analog inputs. This ADC has an integrated temperature sensor which provides an output that is corrected with respect to pre-defined temperature coefficients.The MAX1029BCEP+ is designed to support a wide range of input signals, including single-ended, differential, and pseudo-differential inputs. It supports a maximum sampling frequency of 500 kS/s, and a latency of 5.9 µs, making it well-suited for high-speed data acquisition. This ADC also features industry-leading power consumption, with a typical current consumption of only 1.8mA.To support low-power operation, the MAX1029BCEP+ can be powered down into a low-power “sleep” mode when not in use. In this mode, the device will draw less than 1 µA of current, allowing it to be used as an energy-saving solution for low-power applications.In addition, the MAX1029BCEP+ features an integrated reference voltage generator circuit. This circuit allows for accurate conversion from the input signal, by supplying a stable voltage reference to the input of the ADC. This reference generator is capable of producing reference voltages from 1.4V to 4.4V, with a typical noise level of 20 µV. The MAX1029BCEP+ also features a wide range of diagnostic functions, such as an error detection circuit and self-calibration feature. The error detection circuit monitors the input voltage, over-range, and noise levels to ensure accurate and consistent results, while the self-calibration feature ensures that any drift or offsets in the ADC’s output are automatically corrected. The MAX1029BCEP+ can be used in a wide range of applications, including data acquisition, industrial automation, process control, instrumentation, biomedical, and automotive systems. Its combination of low noise, high resolution, and wide range of diagnostic functions make it ideal for applications where fast, accurate, and reliable performance is required.
