It is compatible with two- and single-ended input sources with pseudo-differential input. Working Principle

The MAX1162ACUB+ takes an analog input signal and converts it to a 12-bit digital word over the 4-wire Digital Interface. The device is a sampling ADC that uses a differential input architecture with two sampling capacitors. Sampling also occurs between two warm-up times. The conversion process starts by initiating a sampling request, which is a signal sent through the “EN” pin. A voltage reference sets the absolute level of the input signal.The analog signal is then compared to the reference voltage and stored in the sampling capacitors. The result is then processed by a low noise amplifier and sent to the quantization phase. Here, the analog signal is compared with a digital ramp waveform to determine the digital result. The digital word is then sent to the output buffer, where it is clocked out to the digital interface.
