The MAX1162AEUB+ is a low-power 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that supports both single-ended and differential inputs. It features conversion speeds of up to 250ksps, low power dissipation of 350μA active and 5μA standby, and a small package size of 8-pin DIP. The MAX1162AEUB+ provides a high-accuracy analog-to-digital conversion with 16-bit accuracy and a programmable reference range from 0.1V to 10V. The input voltage range for the MAX1162AEUB+ is localized to 0.4V-4.1V, allowing for an extended temperature range of 0°C to +105°C with a low-temperature drift of 0.1μV/°C. The MAX1162AEUB+ supports a single-ended and differential input that is suitable for industrial and consumer applications, as well as porting data from sensors and battery management systems.

The MAX1162AEUB+ features a low noise dual ramp sample-and-hold circuit, with very low distortion and good immunity to input overload. The conversion time is user programmable, selectable from 2 cycles to almost any time period. An oversampling feature allows faster conversions without sacrificing accuracy or linearity; up to a maximum of 16x. This feature also provides a simple and accurate way of increasing the resolution (to 20-bits) without additional conversions.
