Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) is an important component of digital system that converts an analog signal into a digital signal for processing. The Texas Instruments MAX1184ECM+D is one of the most popular high-speed, low-power analog to digital converter ICs with an extended temperature range and low power consumption. Then, the voltage reference provides the internal reference voltage which is used as the basis for comparison. In the last stage, the SAR algorithm is used to compare the input signal with the reference to generate the digital output. The conversion takes only few microseconds and the digital output can be read out by the user.
