Depending on the result of the comparison, the approximation results in either a binary 1 or 0. This process is repeated until the analog signal is accurately represented as a binary number.

The MAX1422ECM+D also incorporates an integrator that allows the ADC to reject any non-zero average components in the analog signal. The integrator ensures that the average of the analog signal is zero. This minimizes errors resulting from offset voltages or variations in ground references. The MAX1422ECM+D also features a low open-loop gain of 15 µV/V, which helps reduce errors caused by voltage offsets.
