It enables the design of innovative adapter and battery power solutions with superior power efficiency, better integration, and system cost savings potential. The MAX14728EWV+T integrates a wide variety of power management and control functions into an IC. Offering half-power and shutdown modes, the IC is able to regulate the power supply of laptop computers, cell phones and other portable devices.The MAX14728EWV+T application field includes USB-host powered, adapter-powered and battery-powered applications. It is used in a wide range of portable devices, such as tablets and laptops, cellular phones, and portable gaming consoles. The MAX14728EWV+T is designed to support various types of ports such as USB, SATA, PCIe, and eMMC. It is fully compliant with the USB 2.0 specification, and power sequencing of connected devices is fully supported.The working principle of the MAX14728EWV+T is based on its integrated functions. It is designed to enable low RDS(on) power MOSFETs, with internal current- and voltage-limiting features enabled via the SmartPower Technology. It also offers integrated battery charge management, allowing for efficient and safe charging of Li-ion, Li-polymer, and other types of batteries.The MAX14728EWV+T is the ideal PMIC for applications requiring excellent power management, higher efficiency, and lower power consumption.
