The MAX14842ATE+ is a highly integrated device from Maxim Integrated Products comprising of a configurable dual level-shifting section with Optional decode logic and differential line drivers. This device is a part of the Translators, Level Shifters Logic family from Maxim that offers a flexible, low power solution for signal level-shifting, signal conversion, broadcast operations and much more. The applications of MAX14842ATE+ mainly include switching between two different voltage domains. At a high level, the MAX14842ATE consists of two differential line drivers (DE1 and DE2) for the incoming signals and two digital logic blocks for the outgoing signals. A configurable frame decoder is used to check for frame errors. This enables the device to automatically detect improperly encoded signals on the bus and take appropriate action. In addition, if the detect logic detects a frame error, the device can reset itself and/or enter reset state.

The MAX14842ATE+ can also be configured with a special decode logic to detect various types of incoming signals. This decode logic is based on the 4-bit Gray code, which is used to detect various types of errors on the incoming signals. In addition, a clock-fastening circuit is available on the device to ensure that the incoming signals remain synchronized with the local clock.

The MAX14842ATE+ is also equipped with dual level-shifting transistors. These transistors are configured in a push-pull configuration to provide a balanced output voltage swing.
