Digital Isolators are a type of isolation technology that helps protect electronic systems from high-voltage surges, electrical noise, and other harsh environmental conditions. The MAX14850ASE+ is an isolated digital isolator developed by Maxim Integrated Products and is designed for automotive and industrial applications, such as including CAN, LIN and Ethernet. It also features a low-power consumption sleep mode for use in battery-powered systems.
In terms of operating principle, the MAX14850ASE+ provides electrical isolation between input and output sides of the device. The device takes in a digital signal as an input, reads it electrically, and provides an output based on the coded logic of the input. The low-voltage input signals are filtered by an input hysteresis buffer and converted into a low-speed signal by a charge pump. Low-speed signals are then sent to the input comparator for recognition.
