The MAX1517ETJ+ is a high-performance, low-power, secondary side current regulator, designed for advanced LED driver applications. It is a power management IC for DC/DC buck converters which offers a wide range of capabilities for LED lighting and display applications, such as lighting and display power conversion, current regulation and dimming control. It has been designed to meet the requirements of wide input voltage range, high current accuracy, low power dissipation, and reliable operation.
In LED applications, it is often necessary to be able to accurately and efficiently control the current of the LEDs both at full current, and in dimming mode. The MAX1517ETJ+ provides an easy-to-use, and reliable way of achieving this. It comes with an integrated adjustable resistor, which can be used to set the maximum current of the LEDs. The current sense resistor is connected to the MAX1517ETJ+ and the voltage across the current sense resistor is monitored by the IC.
