It  provides overvoltage protection in the form of two (2) reset outputs and four (4) Open-Drain outputs, as well as intelligent power-on functionality, overcurrent protection (OCPs), reverse protection, and transients. In addition, the IC features five (5) power sequencing levels, power sequencing memory, dual color LEDs, and isolation voltages up to 60V, making it suitable for both 3.3V and 5V power rails.

The MAX16004ATP+ is designed to save space and reduce cost by eliminating parts and hubs while improving power supply design flexibility and reliability. With highly configurable inputs, output voltages, and time delays, the supervisor gives designers extensive control over their power supply design.

MAX16004ATP+\'s Working Principle

The MAX16004ATP+ Supervisors are designed to provide an incremental level of protection from voltage transients that could otherwise damage or destroy critical components in a circuit. Its reset outputs and open-drain outputs serve to disconnect circuits in the event of an overvoltage situation, o provide protection against a wide range of overvoltage conditions including overcurrent, overvoltage, reverse voltage, and transients. After the overvoltage has stabilized, the MAX16004ATP+ can then provide power sequencing memory to allow the circuit to remain operational, thus preserving the circuit’s state of operation.

The MAX16004ATP+\'s sequencing feature allows users to control the order and timing of powers to the device. This simplifies power sequencing and eliminates the need for external discrete devices, allowing users to save on board space and cost. In addition, the IC can be used with two different colors of LEDs for testing & fault diagnostics, as well as dual isolation channels with voltages up to 60V for efficient transient protection.
