MAX16007ATP+ is a voltage supervisor device that provides a single push-pull reset output, a programmable voltage detector, and a push-button reset input, all in a 6-pin SOT23 package. It has a fixed 72ms reset timeout (+/-20 ms) and a watchdog timer feature with an adjustable timeout from 1.6ms to 2144ms (+/-20 ms). It is available in 3 versions: extended temperature range (-40°C to +125°C), Automotive (-40°C to +125°C) and Industrial grade (-40°C to +85°C).

Working Principle

The MAX16007ATP+ uses an analog comparator to monitor the VCC voltage with respect to an internally generated reference voltage. If VCC drops below the threshold voltage, the RESET output is asserted. The threshold voltage adjustable over 0.75V to 6V. The output will remain asserted for a fixed reset time of 72ms. The MAX16007ATP+ also has a watchdog timer feature. The watch timer is enabled with an active-high input. The Watchdog Timeout period can be programmed from 1.6ms to 2144ms. The Reset outputs is also released upon asserting the active-low power Push-Button Reset Input (PBRI).

The reset output has an internal pull-up transistor and can drive both push-pull and open-drain configuration. The pull-up transistor is designed to switch fast and ensure low propagation delay. The output can drive up to 10mA, but it is advised to not exceed 5mA to ensure stability. The Open-drain configuration allows the reset output to be ORed with other reset sources.
