MAX16007BTP+ is a high-performance +3.0V/ ±5% reset generator that is widely used in power management applications. It generates a reset output when the voltage from its monitored supply, VDD, falls below a preset threshold and stays low for a preset timeout period. This reset generator is ideal for applications that require high accuracy power monitoring and reset control. This device is capable of monitoring multiple voltage supplies and provides a reset output to alert the system when any of the monitored voltages falls below the factory programmed threshold values.
The MAX16007BTP+ combines a reset generator, dual voltage supervisor and an internal voltage sensor in a small 8-pin package that is capable of monitoring supplies up to 6.5V. The dual voltage supervisor provides two independent comparators that monitor two externally apply sources, VDD and VDD2, and can generate an active low reset signal. Additionally, each voltage observer provides an active low voltage detect input that is internally connected to a push-pull output driver. This makes it easy to connect the reset outputs to multiple destinations and removes the need for external logic gates or discrete components. The internal voltage sensor allows for remote sensing of the voltage supply allowing for more accurate power monitoring and reset control.
The MAX16007BTP+ timer control and reset outputs also provides additional flexibility. This device is capable of monitoring short-term, long-term or both short-term and long-term events and reset the system accordingly. The reset output will remain activated until the monitored voltage supplies stay within their respective factory programmed threshold, for the duration of a specified timeout period, or both.
The MAX16007BTP+ also provides multiple protection features to ensure proper operation. It includes a watchdog timer that monitors system operation and deactivates reset if the timer period is not met. It also includes a power down reset which monitors VDD and VDD2 and resets the system in the event either monitored power source falls below its factory programmed threshold. Additionally, it includes overvoltage protection and reverse supply protection.
