The MAX16047ACB+ is a system supervisor intended for use in 3V to 5.5V applications. It contains a power-on reset, input voltage monitor, temperature monitor, watchdog timer, and two monitoring circuits. It has a very low power consumption, with the shutdown current of 1uA and the active current of 3uA. The MAX16047ACB+ has two distinct modes of operation. The first mode is the operating mode, where the system is operating properly and is reset if needed. The second mode is the reset mode, where the reset signal is asserted if needed to reset the system. The reset signal is asserted only when all monitored conditions have been detected as out of range.

The MAX16047ACB+ contains a voltage monitor that detects input voltage when the voltage drops below +1.6V, +2.2V, +2.8V, or +3.0V thresholds. If input voltage is detected as out of range it immediately asserts the reset signal. It also has a temperature monitor that detects temperatures from -7.5°C to +125°C. The temperature monitor can also be used for reverse current limit protection. If temperature is detected as out of range it also immediately asserts the reset signal.

The MAX16047ACB+ also includes a watchdog timer circuit that is intended to detect loss of control of the internal state machine. It has an adjustable timeout period of 1ms to 225ms and will also assert the reset signal when the timeout period expires.

With its wide range of features, the MAX16047ACB+ is well suited for a variety of applications and can be used to provide reliable, low-cost and energy-efficient system supervision for embedded systems, instrumentation, automotive, automotive body controllers, and portable devices.
