This PMIC is designed to help design in power management within a variety of system configurations.The MAX16058ATT46+T PMIC has four main functions: one-shot monitoring, a programmable reset, internal voltage regulation and an adjustable soft-start circuit.
Monitoring
The one-shot monitoring capability of the MAX16058ATT46+T monitors one or more system power rail levels simultaneously. This sophisticated feature makes it ideal for monitoring multiple power rail levels in applications such as server motherboards, networking systems, embedded systems and more. The one-shot monitoring feature allows for RTD/TTL reset assertion and de-assertion, which helps reduce system downtime in the event of a power rail voltage abnormality.The monitoring feature offers overvoltage/undervoltage threshold immunity and hysteresis in order to meet the demanding requirements of the various system power rails. This feature also allows the user to select the appropriate trigger levels for each voltage rail, or to tear down the system if a single rail is not functioning properly. In addition, it has very low supply current draw.
Reset Output
The MAX16058ATT46+T PMIC provides a programmable reset output, which is capable of a number of different reset functions. The output can be configured to generate an uptime signal, a one-shot active-low signal, or a signal to indicate if the power rail has gone above or below a certain threshold. This feature is useful in applications such as servers, where a signal is needed to indicate when the system has powered down before the system can be restarted.
