The MAX1621EEE+T is a 4.5V to 36V, 2A step-down switching voltage regulator that integrates a lowside MOSFET and a control IC. It is designed to reduce energy consumption and extend battery life in space-limited, portable applications. The MAX1621EEE+T operates in a buck topology, where the output voltage is regulated by varying the duty cycle of the control IC’s PWM signal sent to the lowside MOSFET. A high-side MOSFET provides power from the input voltage to the inductor. The inductor current is then stored in the output capacitor, used to provide regulated output voltage.
