MAX16922AUPD/V+ is a high performance current-mode step-down converter. It offers an integrated monolithic voltage regulator with high efficiency and excellent power saving performance. It also has low standby current consumption, no external components and low on-resistance. The MAX16922AUPD/V+ provides up to 40V input voltage operating range and 500mA maximum continuous output current. It has a wide operating temperature range, integrated voltage protection and 2KV ESD protection. In addition, it also has low noise, fast load transient response and fast start-up time. MAX16922AUPD/V+ is suitable for DC-DC converters, LED lighting, general purpose IC supply, portable applications, telecommunications and embedded systems.

Detailed Working Principle:

The MAX16922AUPD/V+ operates in current-mode with a fixed frequency of 2MHz. It has an on-chip high precision voltage reference, providing an output voltage accuracy of +/-1%. The device uses a fixed frequency current-mode control scheme to reduce the output voltage ripple and reduce the output voltage range. The onboard high-performance synchronous rectifier and Soft-Start circuitry greatly improve the operating efficiency and reduce the output current overshoot.

The MAX16922AUPD/V+ offers a wide range of features including 93.5% efficiency, low noise, fast start-up time, fast dynamic load transient response, integrated voltage protection and 2KV ESD protection. It also offers an integrated current limitation and thermal protection circuitry to protect the device from damage caused by over-current, over-temperature and over-voltage conditions.

In addition, the device also offers a wide range of output voltage settings with a precise output voltage accuracy, allowing the user to adjust the output voltage to the required range with a single external resistor.
