Working Principle

The MAX16935CAUESB/V+T is a buck switching voltage regulator. It consists of an internal power switch and an error amplifier connected to an external control loop, which is continuously comparing the output voltage to an internally generated reference. The control loop adjusts the duty cycle of the S/G control signal to maintain the output voltage. The PWM control signal drives the internal power switch, so the inductor current can be regulated. The error amplifier will reduce the voltage on the control loop when the output voltage falls below the reference, and vice versa.

The MAX16935CAUESB/V+T has an integrated schmitt trigger hysteresis circuit to reduce the output noise. The switching frequency can be programmed via the S/G pin, and the internal compensation of the control loop ensures stable regulation. Additional features include power-on-reset and overcurrent protection.
