Working Principle

The MAX16083XR10O+T provides a temperature monitoring system that detects dietemperature, monitors ambient temperature and captures the MAX16080conversion result. This device straps reset to a logic level selected withthe RESET polarity pin. The active-low or active-high manual resetcommand pin is sampled after the reset timeout period. An open-drainwatchdog outputs a reset signal if enabled, as a result of watchdogtiming expiration. The RSTZ pin provides a hardware reset input, and isnormally held high through a pull-up resistor. If a low signal is applied,the MAX16083XR10O+T will immidiately reset. The window WDT monitorstwo independent signals to generate an output signal to the resetmajority block if the two monitored signals are not within the windowWDT range. Each of the window WDT pins is monitored throughindependent circuit blocks (PDF datasheet).

The MAX16083XR10O+T contains a precision voltage monitor that monitors thevoltage level applied to the VIN pin. When the voltage drops below theVIN monitor threshold voltage, the voltage monitor output goes high,resetting the system, if enabled, and flags an interrupt if the alertinterrupt bit is set. The voltage monitor output is also reset if themanual reset pin is asserted and enabled, the watchdog times out, or ahardware reset is received. The MAX16083XR10O+T also contains an active-pullup or active-pulldown reset signaloutput pin. The device is available in the tiny TDFN 2mmx3mm (5leads) package, or in the 8-pin WSON or USON packages.
