The MAX17020ETJ+ is an integrated, 1-cell Li+ battery fuel gauge IC that is designed to monitor and analyze a single-cell Li+ battery charge and discharge cycles accurately and quickly. The IC utilizes a low-cost sense resistor plus a patented algorithm to give an accurate measurement of the battery’s state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) and provide dynamic battery model parameters. This combination of analog and digital system components provides excellent performance and accuracy while minimally impacting board space and system cost.

The MAX17020ETJ+ is a specialty Power Management IC (PMIC) intended for applications where an accurate and reliable assessment of battery capacity and health is required.
