Data Acquisition - ADCs/DACs - Special Purpose

MAX180AEQH+D is a high-performance, low-power, low-cost 8-bit 1-channel successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This device is designed to be interfaced directly to a microprocessor (MPU) with minimum external components. Its excellent acquisition rate and sampling features eliminates the need for external glue logic components, making it suitable for cost-sensitive applications.

The device has a high-speed, 8-bit, 1-channel successive approximation analog-to-digital conversion and three independent input channels. It includes an 8-bit Latency Clock (LTC) and a Programmable Settling Time option (PST). The Latency Clock can be used to trigger the next conversion cycle, while the PST allows the user to customize the conversion rate.

The device includes a digital phase-locking loop (PLL) to maintain the accuracy of the converted data. The device also supports a programmable data acquisition rate and a programmable sampling per conversion setting. In addition, the device has a power-saving mode to preserve battery life.
