The MAX1844ETP+ is a DC-DC switching controller from the family of PMIC-Voltage regulators. This chip is used for various applications and it is designed to facilitate management and regulation of DC/DC converters. It has great power output, topology flexibility and high power factor accuracy. To achieve efficient and accurate performance, the MAX1844ETP+ incorporates proprietary digitally controlled architecture, allowing compensation tracking and maintains a peak power factor above 0.9.

The PWM modulates the average current output by changing the average duty cycle of the pulses. This in turn, allows the maximum power delivery from the source to the loads. The MAX1844ETP+ supports three basic PWM modes: Current Mode, Non Overlap Slope Compensation and Non Overlap Zero Current Operation (NOC). All three modes offer improved power efficiency and load response.

The MAX1844ETP+ features a built-in Active Current Sharing (ACS) functionality. This functionality optimizes current sharing between each power element in the power supply. By sharing the current equally, the power supply efficiency increases. As well as this, the MAX1844ETP+ is resistant to line voltage variations, providing power to the system even under a low input voltage. This makes the MAX1844ETP+ suitable for an alternating current (AC) line supply. Furthermore, the chip features one point calibration adjustment to tailor the conversion result and simplify characterization.
