MAX1865TEEP+T Application Field and Working Principle

Schematics
The MAX1865TEEP+T comprises a comparator, voltage reference, voltage programming pins, a precision reference, and a three-LUT level regulator. The three-LUT level regulator is used in multiplexing the voltage using three resistors and is shown in the below figure.
Working Principle
The voltage programming pins (VP1 and VP2) control a digital potentiometer (digital pot). The VP2 pin is connected to a node between the two resistors. A Single-pole Double-throw (SPDT) switch is connected between the end of the first resistor and the wiper of the digital pot. A buffer is connected between the wiper and the other end of the second resistor. Depending on the resistance variation of the two resistors, the output voltage (V(OUT)) is varied. Thus, the output voltage is programmed with the VP1 and VP2 pins.
The voltage programming pins are connected to 6-bit registers which can be programmed. The 6-bit registers, in turn, control the resistance ratio of the two resistors through the digital pot. The current passing through the Node can be controlled by either increasing or decreasing the resistance, and thus the output voltage is controlled. The output voltage is a result of the ratio of the two resistors and is dependent on the current passing through the Node.
