The MAX188DCAP+T is a high-performance, 16-bit, dual voltage-output, successive approximation ADC. With a dedicated reference input and a built-in temperature sensor, the MAX188DCAP+T offers exceptional dynamic performance and flexibility for a wide range of applications. Designed for use in USB docking stations, laptop and desktop systems, automotive, medical and military applications, the MAX188DCAP+T provides the optimal solution for high resolution data conversion and temperature sensing.
The MAX188DCAP+T supports two independent supply voltages, allowing designers to select the optimum resolution and power consumption. Independent power pins accomplish this by providing a 1.8V power supply for digital circuitry and a 2.5V or 3.3V power supply for the ADC core. The dual voltage-output feature of the MAX188DCAP+T allows for simultaneous monitoring of the MAX188DCAP+T’s internal temperature sensor and the external reference voltage.
The MAX188DCAP+T\'s exceptional dynamic performance is driven by its low-latency successive approximation architecture that offers a 16-bit resolution at 1MHz sample rate and fast settle times of 500ns. The maximum integrate-and-hold capacitor settling time of 15ms allows the MAX188DCAP+T to accurately represent a wide dynamic range of input signals and output the result with minimal settling time. Also, the flexible trigger and multiple analog input ranges on the MAX188DCAP+T provide designers with the ability to optimize power consumption, performance, and accuracy.
The MAX188DCAP+T is also designed with an integrated temperature sensor to provide accurate temperature measurement and monitoring. Its accurate, low-drift temperature sensor enables precise and reliable temperature control, particularly in challenging environments.
