The MAX2041EVKIT is a universal, high-throttle RF evaluation and development board for design and development of advanced applications such as antenna tuning, software defined radios, and heterogeneous nodes. This board can be connected to a PC or laptop to deploy the applications for development.
The MAX2041EVKIT has 20lF, 6mm, 0.5mm pitch Open-Ended Test Point connectors with 8-4 pads that store the configuration setup, refresh the internal control registers, enable autonomous measurements, and finally measure the overall performance. The board is suitable for applications requiring high frequency control, digital signal processing, and dynamic power control.
This board is powered through a 3.3V USB power source. USB is connected to a computer to perform the different operation for any of the parameters of interest like amplitude, frequency, phase, and others. The board contains four operational amplifiers for high dynamic range signal processing, on-board power management, clock signal conditioning and an oscilloscope for real-time waveform plotting.
The MAX2041EVKIT features five RF ports for transmission and reception of signals. These ports can be connected to external antennas, amplifiers, and other network resources. The RF outputs allow the MAX2041EVKIT to measure transmit power, efficiency, and the noise figure of a final system. Further, it can measure the quality of the RF signal measured at the desired frequencies.
The MAX2041EVKIT is configured using a configurable register profile. This profile sets the parameters related to the start-up, idle mode, GPIO reconfiguration, calibration points, measurement range, and frequency tuning steps. This profile is stored in the board, and can be modified through the firmware associated with the board.
The MAX2041EVKIT can also be used for fast testing and evaluation of devices by providing high measurement accuracy. The board has several inbuilt features, such as RF loopback testing, power level set for target device, error handling and device health indications, which can be used to measure the operation of target devices, ensuring a reliable quality assurance process.
For transmission and reception, the MAX2041EVKIT guides the software to control frequency, gain, filter, modulation, signature, and RF channels. The user can implement a few basic functions like voice over IP call, enabling communication between two phones, or providing real-time streaming of real-time data. For reception, the MAX2041EVKIT supports a broad range of digital and analog formats such as PCM, GSM, EDGE, BPSK, and LMS.
