• Working Principle

The MAX206CNG is a peripheral component integrated circuit (IC) that consists of two transconductance FET drivers, as well as an address-decoding logic. The logic is for decoding threepins that are used for selecting one of eight possible states. Each of these drivers is typically used to accommodate two 2-input NAND gates, creating a ‘dual’ driver. Additionally,each of the drivers has an integrated open-drain output circuit that gives thechip flexible drive capability. It has a standby current (IDD Standby) rating of 15μA per stage/channel, allowing it to operate at higher efficiency than similar devices.

The main components of the chip are the integrated dual Drivers, two transistors, two resistors, and two input pins.The two transistors act as switches, allowing the inputs to be routed to the outputs. The resistors act as voltage dividers, setting the threshold for current flow. Finally, the two input pins are used to connect the device to the external environment. The current (I) is controlled by a set of external resistors, allowing the voltage to be adjusted based on the resistors\' resistance.

When the two inputs are connected to the same voltage, the two transistors turn “on” and the output is connected to the ground. When the two inputs are not connected, the transistors stay “off” and the output is disconnected from the ground. This allows the device to control multiple output signals without having to control each signal individually.
