MAX20735EVKIT# is a evaluation board that enables designers to evaluate and develop off-line, AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies. It provides the designer with a comprehensive platform to evaluate components used in power supplies such as inductors, circuit protection components, power ICs, standby controllers and integrated circuits.The board features two separate power channels for step-down DC/DCs converters and a dedicated AC/DC channel for constant voltage and constant current applications. It is based on a Maxim MAX20735EVKIT# product family, which includes high-performance microcontrollers, A/D converters and power transistors. The board accepts a wide range of voltage input from AC (0-264 VAC) and DC (0-640 VDC) sources, making it suitable for a broad range of AC/DC power supplies. The board is designed to operate in a high-efficiency mode while providing comprehensive protection against various fault conditions.The board provides an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) based on USB communications that facilitates evaluation of components, features and designs. The GUI includes a variety of graphical plots, customizable output voltages and currents as well as fault condition thresholds. The board also includes an RS-232 port and an LCD to display information such as output voltages, currents and other parameters.The MAX20735EVKIT# includes protection features such as over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, short-circuit and thermal protection to protect the circuit against various fault conditions. It also includes EMI/EMC filtering circuitry, which is used to reduce interference from digital and analog circuits within the system.Working PrincipleThe MAX20735EVKIT# works on the principle of stepped down DC-DC converter.
