MAX2121EVKIT is a RF evaluation and development kit, board which is used to evaluate the MAX2121 multistandard phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer chips. This evaluation kit contains four different boards offering a variety of synthesizer performance and application. The kit is ideal for evaluating, and prototyping applications using either the MAX2121 or MAX2122 PLL frequency synthesizers. To use the kit, customers must purchase the Evaluation Board along with daughterboard circuit boards.

The MAX2121EVKIT is mainly used for developing RF front-end designs. It is designed to support a variety of wireless applications such as GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, WiMAX, cordless phones, satellite navigation systems, radios, and transceivers. MAX2121EVKIT is also suitable for the development of RF transceivers, low-noise amplifiers, frequency multipliers, crystal oscillators, antenna designs, power amplifiers, and other RF-related circuits.

The Working Principle of the MAX2121EVKIT.

The function of the MAX2121EVKIT is to evaluate and develop applications that involve the use of the MAX2121 frequency synthesizer chips. The MAX2121 EVKIT includes four different daughterboard boards, which are connected to the motherboard boards that contains the MAX2121 chips. The evaluation card includes a set of power supplies, bias networks, test points, and RF connections for the daughterboards. The power supplies and bias networks are necessary to apply the precise DC voltages to the daughterboards for proper operation and low noise operation.

The daughterboards also includes a fixed frequency oscillator, tunable frequency oscillator, amplifier networks, and other necessary components. The oscillators are required to measure the performance of the chip, while the amplifier networks are employed to increase the output of the daughterboard. The daughterboard can also be adjusted by changing the frequency of operation and by performing calibration and tests.
