The integrated USB-C connector also supports USB 3.1 data-only port, allowing the user to attain maximum possible data rates.

The evaluation board also features a host of small connectors for the purpose of enabling the user to facilely evaluate the alternative mode display port signal from the integrated host and downstream port connections. These tiny connectors permit using industry standard cables, helping in assessment of power and signal integrity.

The MAX24210EVKIT provides an easy-to-use platform for testing and evaluating the MAX24210 Integrated Holster Controller. Its purpose-built evaluation board offers a full-featured interface for testing, evaluating, and debugging the MAX24210’s integrated holster circuit. The device can be simply installed onto the evaluation board and then precisely operated and evaluated as desired.

The working principle of the MAX24210EVKIT is simple: The LC3’s low dropout regulator is connected to the 5V input rail and it provides 3.3V, 2.2V, 1.7V, 1.2V and 1.0V output voltages to the MAX24210 Integrated Holster Controller. The device then acts as a thermal protector by using an external current sensing circuitry that monitors the operating temperature. When the maximum allowed operating temperature is exceeded, the MAX24210 turns off the LCD panel. The board also features a variety of switching and selector logic for tactile switches, a programmable LED control, Schottky diodes, power Mosfets, and EEPROMs.
