One example of such product is the MAX2602EVKIT, which is a universal-input single-output (UISO) RF power amplifier (PA) evaluation kit used to evaluate business radio and standard ISM band applications.

The MAX2602 EV kit features the MAX2602, a fully integrated 3.0V-to-5.5V PA featuring Optimal Immunity towards the input signal for high linearity and efficiency in the output stage. It is also suitable for many common wired and wireless communication interfaces, including Full Rate, Echo-Cancelled, Half Rate, and QAM waveforms.

Regarding its working principle, the MAX2602 PA is an amplifier based on the Doherty concept with a linear single input and two outputs driven by an RF switch, ultimately resulting in an increased efficiency and linearity compared to normal linear amplifiers. The input is split into two branches with different impedances. The high impedance branch is selectively connected to the load, allowing for high-efficiency operation when the amplitude is low, while the low impedance branch is always connected to the load and allows for high linearity and large signal handling capability.

In the MAX2602 EV kit, the PA operates from a single voltage supply of 3.0V to 5.5V, and is capable of providing up to 11dBm of output power with a high power-added efficiency (PAE) of 50%. It also features a digital enable/disable control, with a low bias current of 4mA. The EV kit also features an industry-standard footprint, making it easy to design into the existing system.
