RF Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards have become increasingly popular with professionals in the field of designing, debugging, and optimizing the operation of wireless communication systems. The MAX2680EVKIT from Maxim Integrated is such a kit.The MAX2680EVKIT is a low-cost radio frequency (RF) evaluation and development kit for testing and evaluation of the MAX2680, a dual-channel, high-performance transceiver for VHF-UHF applications. The MAX2680EVKIT includes a MAX2690EVKIT universal development board, antenna, regulator, cables, and other necessary components to quickly evaluate and develop applications. These components offer the opportunity to evaluate the MAX2680 transceiver in various RF applications.
The MAX2690EVKIT board contains all the necessary components to evaluate the performance of the MAX2680 in various applications. It contains a dual-channel T/R switch, VCO, PA, VGA, and 3.3V regulator, as well as the MAX2680 RF transceiver, frequency amplifiers, and all the necessary test connections. In addition to the evaluation board, the kit includes a USB-to-USB cable, 9-15V DC power supply, coaxial cables, and an antenna. All these components are conveniently organized into two separate kits, one for evaluation and one for development. The MAX2690EVKIT board conveniently provides a few connections on the PCB to quickly connect to various components.
The MAX2680EVKIT board offers a wide range of features that are helpful in evaluating and developing various RF applications. It has an 8-bit DAC that can output 2 RF signals simultaneously. The CDMA/GSM/EDGE compliant IC has a wide frequency range of between 1800 – 2700 MHz and operates from -30°C to +85°C. The board also has an integrated 32-bit ARM processor and an on-board PGIA, as well as USB, JTAG, and general digital and analog I/Os.
The MAX2680EVKIT board implements various useful features such as software-defined radio (SDR), frequency hopping, channel filtering, dynamic modulation, digital signal processing (DSP), and dynamic phase locking loop (DPLL) and PSK/FSK modulation. It also supports a wide variety of digital video formats such as MPEG-2, H.264, and MPEG-4. The board has a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for easy tuning and frequency hopping. The GUI supports Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
