Working Principle of MAX2982EVKIT

At the core of MAX2982EVKIT is the MAX2982E advanced, non-inverting buck-boost LED driver. This LED driver features an optimized non-inverting control loop that is specifically designed to drive high-brightness LEDs in automotive, industrial, decorative, and architectural lighting applications. Additionally, this LED driver features a 10-pin DDPAK/TO-263 package that provides a compact and protected footprint, a highly efficient and flexible architecture that enables a wide range of LED current configurations, a dash-dot LED indication pin, and an adjustable dimming option that allows for 10-bit/640 steps of resolution. In order to demonstrate the MAX2982E’s key features, the MAX2982EVKIT evaluation board houses a MAX2982E advanced non-inverting buck-boost LED driver, an 8MHz crystal oscillator, a 10kΩ potentiometer, a 330Ω resistor, a 3VRMS transformer, MOSFETs, a Rc-RC filter, and a number of connectors. The evaluation board will also include an array of components so that the MAX2982E\'s order of magnitude higher efficiency and added flexibility can be easily and effectively demonstrated. This array of components includes a MOSFETS, a 3VRMS transformer, a Rc-RC filter, a 330Ω resistor, a 10KΩ potentiometer, and a level shifting transistor. The MAX2982E evaluation board also features a 10k pot for LED current adjustment, allowing users to easily and conveniently adjust the LED current setting. This board also provides for a 0.25s step size for controlling the LED current settings. Additionally, the board features a dash-dot LED indication pin for displaying the LED status, current setting, active dimming, under-voltage lockout protection, and other parameters.
