The automatically adjust the gain of the received signal to keep the TTL logic level output range between 0V and 5V. In transmit mode, the transceiver takes the TTL input data and converts it into RS-232 or other protocol data format before unloading the data stream to the external device.

In terms of power supply, MAX3241EEUI+TG1Z provides two independent power supply lines. The first line is responsible for supplying stable 5V power and is connected to the 5V_VCC pin, whereas the other line is for supplying the low-voltage power supply and its connected to the 3V_VCC pin.
