Linear video processing comprises a range of activities such as signal conditioning, video encoding/decoding, video acquisition, and video output/display. The MAX3815ACCM+ is a wide-range linear video processing chip designed to reduce system-level board cost, space, and design time.

The MAX3815ACCM+ integrates a 16-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter and four 10-bit A/D converters to ensure low noise, high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and excellent dynamic range. The Max3815ACCM+ also includes separately adjustable range, offset, and gain digital processing algorithms and can process signals with a richness of colored details.

The processing is accomplished using digital signal processor (DSP) algorithms embedded in the internal DSP hardware to enable real-time capture and analysis of the video signals. The MAX3815ACCM+ features an on-chip 8-bit programmable vector processor that performs vector-altering operations such as fast Fourier transform (FFT) for signal enhancement.

The MAX3815ACCM+ is capable of delivering up to 960 frames per second in 16-bit mode, or 2 megapixels per second in 10-bit mode. It supports high-definition video formats such as 1080p and 1080i as well as 3D video formats. Additionally, it supports both YCrCb and RGB video formats.

For video compression and encoding, the MAX3815ACCM+ delivers up to 30 Mbps in 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 compressed video formats. It supports multiple video codecs such as H.264, H.265, and VP9. The chip also offers power-saving modes for both static and dynamic operation.

The MAX3815ACCM+ is an ideal solution for applications such as digital signage, broadcast equipment, surveillance systems, and video conference systems. It enables real-time video processing and can be used to reduce system-level board design cost, space, and design time.
