The MAX31850EVKIT is a Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits created by Maxim Integrated for applications that involve thermocouples. This kit is highly versatile and contains the necessary hardware, software, and documentation for the user to fully understand the features and specifications of the MAX31850 thermocouple-to-digital converter. The kit contains everything needed for evaluation including a ready-to-go daughter card, thermocouple probes, accessories, and the GUI tool. The MAX31850EVKIT is an effective evaluation board for designing with the MAX31850 device and offers the user an intro into the thermocouple-to-digital conversion process. This board has a host of features and is suitable for operating with a variety of thermocouples. This includes two type K, two type J, and two type N thermocouple probes. The kit can be easily configured and operated by plugging in the daughter card to the main board, connecting the daughter cards to Software GUI, connecting the thermocouple probes to the daughter cards, and setting up the Software GUI. With the GUI, the user can gain access to the necessary features for the evaluation process and access the device data, configure the configurations, and access the device information.The kit is very versatile and can be used for a variety of applications. This includes thermostats, furnace control, ovens, industrial heaters, air conditioners, and commercial coolers. This board is suitable for applications that require the device to operate with a variety of thermocouples, including type J, type K, and type N. The user can easily switch between thermocouples by simply swapping out the daughter cards.The MAX31850EVKIT also includes the option to quickly and easily test the accuracy of the readings with its built-in “cold-junction compensation” feature. This feature makes it simple to assess the accuracy of the current thermocouple reading, and the accuracy is further assessed with the on-board thermistor.
