The MAX336EWI+T IC is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for use as an interface in analog switch, multiplexer, and demultiplexer applications. This IC’s has two independent power supplies, one for logic and one for analog, and offers high integration with no analog signal conditioning necessary. This makes the MAX336EWI+T IC’s ideal for low-cost, high-quality, low-power, and variable-utility switch, multiplexer, and demultiplexer applications.The MAX336EWI+T is a three-channel analog switch, multiplexer, and/or demultiplexer with three single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switches. Each switch is optimized for signal conditioning applications due to its high linearity, low on-resistance and matched switching characteristics. The lower power consumption and built-in protection features make it ideal for automotive and other mission critical applications.The MAX336EWI+T offers five voltage and input current ranges from 3.3V to 28V and from 0V to 6V respectively. Each channel has a maximum on-state resistance of 75Ohms or less. It can also handle up to 4A peak-to-peak power. The high linearity and fast switching time reduce noise and distortion. The analog integration circuits also include a 5V Zero Motor-off protection feature, which allows the IC to be used in situations where the ground voltage is not consistent.When used for analog switching, the MAX336EWI+T handles multiple signals with data rates up to 1.6MHz and provides isolation between inputs and outputs of up to 50dB. It can also be used for demultiplexing applications. The IC’s flexible architecture allows up to 8 channels of input or output to be connected. Additionally, the integrated digital control logic allows the IC to be used for digital applications such as the logic control of analog switches, multiplexes, and demultiplexes.For applications where the power consumption needs to be kept to a minimum, MAX336EWI+T has a low-power mode. This mode reduces the logic supply current to 10μA or less and the analog source gain current to 10μA or less. The low-power mode also ensures a fast turn-on response time, allowing the IC to maintain a high speed of operation.In addition, the MAX336EWI+T has an integrated hot swap protection feature to protect against sudden power surges or dips. This feature allows the IC to automatically detect and shut down potentially damaging voltages.Finally, MAX336EWI+T’s versatile application field and operating principle makes it a great choice for a wide range of analog switch, multiplexer and demultiplexer designs. With its highly integrated features and low power consumption, the MAX336EWI+T makes for an excellent solution for designs that demand high performance and low cost.
