MAX3386EEUP+T Application Field and Working PrincipleThe MAX3386EEUP+T is a low-power, small footprint, +3.3 V powered, voltage-tolerant, differential bus transceiver with 3.3 V logic-level I/O suitable for high speed Point-to-Point, Network and Bus applications. It offers low supply current, fast 0.5 μs propagation delay, and low noise performance. The combination of these features makes it ideal for short line, Point-to-Point, high speed Ethernet and other networking applications.The MAX3386EEUP+T transceiver is designed to be compatible with 3.3 V logic systems. The MAX3386EEUP+T operates over a wide -3.3 V to +3.3 V supply range and provides a ±12.5 V common-mode range. The transceiver features three mode settings with increasing levels of immunity from noise and data interference. It is capable of providing full-duplex operation at data rates as high as 250 Mbps with a propagation delay of less than 0.5 μs.The MAX3386EEUP+T transceiver includes a differential transmit amplifier and two differential receiver amplifiers. The transmit amplifier converts the single-ended input signal from the bus or network interface into a differential signal suitable for transmission over the cable. The two differential receiver amplifiers are used to convert the differential signal received from the cable into a single-ended signal suitable for the bus or network interface.The MAX3386EEUP+T supports a wide variety of physical interfaces including SSTP (ShieldedSTP), UTP (UnshieldedSTP), and CAT5e cable interfaces. The transceiver also supports Ethernet 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and Gigabit Ethernet. The transceiver is designed to meet FCC Part 68 and IEEE 802.3 standards.In addition to its singles-ended data transmission and reception capabilities, the MAX3386EEUP+T also supports active crossover detection, allowing it to auto-detect and re-align the crossover point when used in crossover mode. This feature allows the host system to quickly detect and recover from cable crossover issues, making it suitable for connecting two isolated subnets in a networked environment.The MAX3386EEUP+T supports a wide range of configurable features, including integrated termination resistors, broadcast/multicast address filtering, and programmable polarity selection. The onboard termination resistors make it easy to use with external transceiver modules and provide a low-cost solution for systems that require minimal setup and configuration.In summary, the MAX3386EEUP+T is an ideal complete differential bus transceiver for applications requiring fast, low-power, low-cost operation over a wide range of signals and interfaces.
