When a 16-bit address is applied, the multiplexer will select a corresponding analog signal from one of the inputs on the MUX pins. This is done by using a common mode logic which is responsible for deciding the output to apply to each submultiplexer. The MUX pins are connected to the selected input.When the multiplexer is enabled (E), the B0-B7 and C0-C7 inputs select which of the 8-bit analog inputs to connect to the output pins, as determined by a binary-coded address. The output pins are thus connected to one of the 8-bit MUX pins, to which the selected analog signal is applied.Meanwhile, the four SPST switches are driven by drivers via the D0-D3 pins. The D0-3 drivers, in turn, are in turn driven by the A0-A3 inputs which determine which of the switches should be closed or opened. When enabled (E), these drivers will cause the switch corresponding to the line-polarity to turn on.Since the MAX385ESE+T features low on-resistance and excellent off-state isolation, together with a wide temperature range and fast-switching speed, it is a great solution for a wide range of sensing and transducer applications, enabling the device to seamlessly connect analog signals to digital systems.
