The MAX4420EPA ("MAX4420"), a PMIC – Gate Drivers, is a fully integrated, logic level-shifting, high-side FET driver, housed in a small 3-mm × 3-mm thermally enhanced TDFN package, specifically designed to drive Power MOSFETs and IGBTs. It is configured to accept either a push-pull input signal (IN+ and IN- with alternating levels) or a logic level signal (IN+ and ground). The MAX4420 integrates low on-resistance and low capacitance to simplify the gate drive circuit, and the resulting lower gate resistance and minimization of power dissipation. It also provides protection from overvoltage and overcurrent conditions, including an HV failure mode, allowing users to reduce system design complexity and comply with various safety regulations.
