The MAX4533EPP is an advanced single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch that operates with a single supply voltage of +2.7V to +18V or dual supply voltage of ±2.7V to ±9V. This device features an on resistance (RON) of 8Ω (max) at a +3.3V supply, high-speed performance of tON = 0.2μs (max) and tOFF = 0.2μs (max), low cross-talk of –50dB (max) at 10MHz, and a wide bandwidth of 1MHz. The MAX4533EPP is also equipped with a second-generation, digital-input logic family with a high-impedance disable, which eliminates the need for external pull-up/down resistors. It is an ideal device for a variety of applications, including: switching signals between multiple analog and digital sources, signal conditioning, signal routing, and level shifting.

The MAX4533EPP operates on both single and dual supplies and, depending on the supply voltage, provides two different levels for the switch’s control voltage. At a single supply voltage, the switch’s control voltage is from 0V to VCC, while at a dual supply, the switch’s control voltage is from +VCC to –VCC. With the addition of a single enable and enable inhibit control pins, the enable can be inverted. Therefore, the enable control voltage is from 0V to VCC (single) or from +VCC to –VCC (dual). The MAX4533EPP features low power consumption and is specified for a power-down current of 500nA (max) at +3.3V.

The working principle of the MAX4533EPP is simple. The SPST switch is controlled by an external signal connected to the E1 (enable) and E2 (inhibit) pins. When E1/E2 are both at logic high, the switch is enabled, and the signal passes through the internal MOSFET.
