Introduction to MAX4552CEE+
The MAX4552CEE+ is an advanced CMOS analog switch fabricated in the submicron process. This integrated analog switch provides improved switching performance, low on-resistance, low charge injection and low power consumption. The MAX4552CEE+ has an ultra-small 5mm by 5mm packaged size, making it suitable for many space-constrained applications. In addition, the MAX4552CEE+ allows for very low turn-on/turn-off time and very low charge injection while operating from a single +3V supply.Application Field
The MAX4552CEE+ is primarily designed for use as an analog switch, multiplexer, and demultiplexer. The MAX4552CEE+ is suitable for use in applications such as instrumentation and data acquisition systems, automated test equipment (ATEs) and optical communications systems. It is well suited for applications where a single switch is required to control multiple signals, or to switch input or output signals over a wide range of frequencies. The MAX4552CEE+ is also used in audio, video and data signal switching, control signal routing, and a wide range of telecommunications, medical, automotive and consumer electronic applications.Working Principle
The MAX4552CEE+ consists of two single-pole/single-throw switches in a monolithic integrated circuit. Each switch consists of several transistors arranged in a CMOS process designed to minimize switch capacitance and on-resistance. This allows the MAX4552CEE+ to operate from a single +3V supply and to switch rapidly without the need for level-shifting devices.The MAX4552CEE+ has two inputs (IN0 and IN1) and two outputs (OUT0 and OUT1). When either input IN0 or IN1 is applied with a logic low signal, the MAX4552CEE+ will connect the corresponding output to ground internally. When the applied signal is a logic high, the output will be switched off or disconnected from ground. The MAX4552CEE+ also has an enable (EN) input, which is used to enable or disable the switch by applying a logic low or a logic high. When the EN input is triggered with a logic low, the switch will be disabled and both outputs will be isolated or disconnected from ground.The MAX4552CEE+ is designed to provide excellent isolation between the input and output. This isolation is provided by a breakdown voltage, which is defined as the voltage required to turn off the switches.
