The MAX4590EAE is an analog switch, multiplexer, and demultiplexer. It is a wide-voltage, single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) switch that can be operated from a single supply from 2.7V to 18V. Being dual supply capable, it can be operated from ±1.35V to ±9V. This range of single supply and dual supply voltages makes it suitable for several applications, ranging from low-voltage, low-power portable devices to higher-voltage medium-power systems.

The MAX4590EAE has an on-resistance (Ron) of 5Ω (max) and an off-leakage current of 5µA (max). The off-leakage current ensures the high-impedance state of the switch when it is not in use. It is normally connected to a logic-level signal, but can also be driven with an analog signal, such as a voltage-sensitive capacitor or digital-to-analog converter.

The MAX4590EAE is offered in a 8-pin plastic dual-inline-package (PDIP), a surface-mount package, and other packages. It is supplied as a single device and is suitable for operation across extended temperature ranges (-40°C to +85°C).
